Bring Out Yer guns! Buyback Program June 11

Gun Buy Back Flyer 2016-06-11

I’m here at Town Meeting and our own Chief McLaughlin noted that this year’s Belmont PD Gun Buyback program is scheduled for this Saturday, June 11th. Gun owners are encouraged to come turn in their unwanted firearms in exchange for a gift certificate ranging from $25 to $100 in value.

This is a highly successful program that resulted in the surrender of scores of firearms from Belmont residents last year. Getting unwanted and unused firearms off the streets help reduce the risk of suicide, accidental discharge, and domestic violence.

Gun owners can bring firearms unloaded with the safety engaged in a bag, box, or case. This is a no-questions-asked program and no ID is required to surrender your gun – just drop off your firearm, pick up your gift certificate and enjoy your Saturday.

This program is sponsored by Belmont Police, Middlesex Sherriff’s office and the Belmont Religious Council.

The Massachusetts State Police will safely destroy all guns that are surrendered. The drop-off location is the Belmont Public Works Department 37 C Street, Belmont, MA.
